Leagues

The Quinte Curling Club offers a large variety of leagues that accommodate a wide range of curlers. So, whether you’re a recreational player or someone competitive; if you’re 5, 95 or somewhere in-between, we are sure to have a league suitable for you.

League Definitions

CLUB League: Members sign up individually and are placed on a team by the league convenor. Some club leagues also have the option for entering as a couple, or up to a team of 4; and vacant team positions have members who have signed up individually placed to complete the team. During the season there will be 3-4 draws where players are shuffled to play with other curlers each draw, providing the opportunity to play with different people. Definition may be used interchangeably with 'house' league.

TEAM League: Registration is for 4 (or 5) players who wish to curl together for the full season.  Individuals welcome to sign up and convenors share with others looking to join a team for the league.

Mixed Format League: League plays in the traditional format of alternating gender for games during the season.

Open Format League: Teams may consist of any gender combination during the season.

Club Information

The Quinte Curling Club (QCC) is a non-profit organization, providing opportunities for curling and social interaction within the Quinte area, while taking an active role in the development of new curlers and the promotion of the game.

It was founded as The Belleville Curling Club in 1867 and was very active through to the 1920’s when the original George Street building fell into disrepair. It wasn’t until the 1950’s that interest in curling was rekindled, resulting in the construction of the current Bridge Street West building. Only COVID-19 has caused a disruption in play since the inaugural game on February 15, 1958.

Members range from novice players to competitive teams at the regional, provincial and even national levels. Governed by a volunteer board of directors, the Club has over 300 members who come from all walks of life and all age groups.

We gratefully acknowledge our location on the beautiful Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples traditional territory and give thanks to the Mohawk Nations whose traditional and unceded territory we enjoy today.
